I am a high school English and creative writing teacher in Arlington, Virginia.
My memoir, His Other Life: Searching For My Father, His First Wife, and Tennessee Williams, won the 2016 University of New Orleans Publishing Lab Prize and will be published in late September of 2017.
My second book of poems, What The Neighbors Know, was published in February, 2014 by FutureCycle Press. My first book, History of the Body, was published by David Robert Books in September, 2012.
My poems have appeared on Poetry Daily, as well as in BEST NEW POETS 2010, The Georgia Review, The Massachusetts Review, The Cincinnati Review, Bellingham Review, Alaska Quarterly Review, Shenandoah and numerous other journals.
My essays have appeared in Shenandoah, Cumberland River Review, Sweet, and WomenArts Quarterly.
My work also appears in the latest editions of Bedford- St. Martins’ Poetry: An Introduction and The Bedford Introduction to Literature: Reading, Thinking, Writing.
